SIOUX CITY -- Morningside, ranked No. 24 in NAIA volleyball, rolled to a win over Dana in a Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinal match at Rosen-Verdorn Sports Center Saturday. Games scores were 25-10, 25-5, 25-11.
Jamie Vander Kooi led the Mustang attack with 13 kills on a .545 attack percentage and actually topped Dana's entire kill output of 11. Morningside had 35 kills as a team and no other player had more than five. Setter Jessica Tjaden had 16 assists and Lindsay Hansen added a match-high 10 digs for Morningside. Dana closed its season with a 22-14 record.
Morningside (31-6) will host a semifinal match Wednesday against 20th-ranked Doane, a three-set winner over Briar Cliff Saturday. The Tigers and Mustangs have split a pair of matches this season.
