COLORADO SPRINGS -- Morningside College had six players score at least nine points in a 90-63 women's basketball triumph over Milwaukee School of Engineering in the Colorado College Thanksgiving Tournament here Saturday.

Senior Brittany Williamson led the way with 14 points while freshman Shelby Beaudette added a career-high 13 points and junior Tanaeya Worden 12 for the Mustangs, who won their fourth straight game. Laura Nelson came off the bench to nail three three-pointers and finish with 11 points while Brittany Alfredson and Roni Miller chipped in nine points each.

Morningside, the defending NAIA Division II national champion ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll, shot 32-for-63 (50.8 percent) from the field and 19-for-24 from the free throw line.

Williamson, a senior from Ruthven, Iowa, snared a team-high seven rebounds and the Mustangs held a 34-29 edge on the boards. The Mustangs had 18 steals, led by Worden with seven, and forced 25 turnovers.

Morningside, now 6-4 overall heading into a 2 p.m. (CST) game against Whitworth University here today, led 41-27 at halftime.

Milwaukee School of Engineering's Dana Guthrie scored a game-high 20 points in a reserve role. The Raiders, who also got 10 points from Megan Syverson, are 1-2 overall.
