SIOUX CITY -- Carli Tritz is well on her way to a second straight trifecta on the Missouri River Activities Conference sports scene.

Tritz won first-team MRAC honors in the sports of volleyball, basketball and soccer a year ago. She repeated as a first-team all-conference volleyball selection on an honor squad released by the league's head coaches.

The 5-11 senior outside hitter, who'll likely become a third-time all-leaguer in her other two sports, had 378 kills for a Heelan team that set a state record in victories (52-6) and won the conference with a 5-0 record. Tritz joined 6-foot senior outside hitter Maggie Vondrak and 5-7 junior setter Leisa McClintock as first-team MRAC selections for a squad that ended its season with a five-game loss to Waverly-Shell Rock in the Class 3A state tournament finals.

Brittni Donaldson, a 5-6 junior outside hitter from North, won first-team honors for the second straight year along with senior outside hitter Emily Olsen of Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln.

East, which fell to eventual state champion Ankeny in the Class 4A regional final for the second consecutive year, placed 5-8 junior right side hitter Melissa Mounts on the first team.

Rounding off the first team is senior libero Maddie Whiteaker of Abraham Lincoln, which lost a first-round state tournament match to Cedar Rapids Kennedy after winning the first two sets.

Tritz ranked fourth in the Class 3A state tournament field with 33 kills, third with a .423 kill percentage and second with 44 digs. She also recorded 382 digs and 144 blocks on the season for Coach Lori Slight's Crusaders.

Vondrak was a second-team selection for last year's 40-12 squad, which reached the 3A state tournament semifinals. Tied for sixth in the final 3A state tournament statistics with her sister Natalie with 27 kills, Maggie Vondrak collected 230 kills, 282 digs and 120 blocks.

McClintock also moved up from the second team. She recorded 883 assists, an average of 6.8 per game, while also converting 590 of 633 serve attempts for 93.8 percent with a team-leading 118 aces. She also supplied 170 kills, 246 digs and 48 blocks.

Donaldson had 291 kills, an average of 3.1 per game for North (21-18, 2-3 MRAC). She also recorded 196 assists, 205 digs and served at an 82.6 percent clip with a team-high 67 ace serves.

Mounts posted 283 kills for East (27-16, 3-2), which set a school record for victories, including triumphs over a previously undefeated Sheldon team, the eventual 2A state runner-up, and Bishop Heelan. She also collected 165 digs, 90 assists and 51 ace serves.

Heelan libero Jordan Johnson (230 digs), a 5-5 senior, and 6-1 sophomore middle hitter Natalie Vondrak (196 kills) each recorded second-team MRAC honors. East is represented on the second team by 5-7 senior setter Erin Frank (875 assists) and 5-8 junior middle hitter Brittney Mozer (218 kills).

Also on the second team are 5-8 junior right side hitter Morgen Bennett (199 digs, 66 kills) of North, Abraham Lincoln senior middle hitter Chelsea Colpitts and Thomas Jefferson junior outside hitter Rachele Harrill.
