SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - Twenty-seven of the Midwest's best stock car drivers battled to take the $1,000 prize last Thursday at the Sioux Speedway Stock Car Nationals.

Dustin Smith emerged as the winner, holding off his brother and several other racers while claiming the Stock Car feature. Dan Van Bruggen won the B-Modifieds featuer while Rusty Montagne claimed the Hobby Stocks feature.

Brothers Dustin and Donovan Smith started in the second row of the Stock Cars feature. Following a wreck on the first lap involving Luke Saathoff, Tom McKenzie and Amanda Smith, Troy Woelber took the lead with Trent Schroeder following closely behind.

Dustin Smith took the lead from Randy Brands halfway through the feature. Smith held off late runs from Brands to take the checkers while Elijah Zevenbergen edged Dononvan Smith for third place.

Ryan Maxwell took the early B-Modified feature lead, battling with Tim Wilcox, Harvey Vande Weerd and Dan Van Bruggen. Van Bruggen used the outside to take the lead late in the race and won, with Wilcox taking second and Maxwell finishing in third.

Montagne took the lead in the early stages of the Hobby Stocks feature and held on for the victory, edging Jake McClure. Justin Nehring won a tough battle for third place over John Cain and Craig Brotherton.
