Ward Bean, Council Bluffs, Iowa, has been awarded the Federation of Fly Fishers CuttCatch Award.

The award recognizes anglers who have caught and released at least four subspecies of cutthroat trout.

It is part of the Project Cuttcatch which promotes appreciation of native fish subspecies.

Bean maintains the Web site www.warmwaterflytyer.com which has drawn national attention.

Bean and his Web site were featured in the Journal's outdoor page on April 16.
